Lesson 1: Fractions of a Whole
Students will represent fractions of a whole using materials, pictures, and symbols. This lesson was completed in class on Tuesday, May 22.
Lesson 2: Fraction Benchmarks
Students will use 0, 1/2, and 1 as reference points for fractions. This lesson was started on Wednesday, May 23.
Lesson 3: Exploring Fractions of a Set
Students will represent fractions as parts of a set using concrete materials and pictures. The concepts in this lesson came up during Lesson 1, so it was also completed on Tuesday, May 22.
Lesson 4: Finding Fractions of a Set
Students will represent fractions of a set using materials (Base 10 blocks), pictures (drawings/arrays), and symbols (numbers). Completed in class on May 24th.
Lesson 5: Relating Fractional Parts of Different Wholes and Sets
Students will explore identical fractions for different wholes and different sets. Completed in class on May 25th.
Lesson 6: Strategies Toolkit
Students will interpret a problem and select an appropriate strategy to solve the problem. Completed in class on May 28th.
Lesson 7: Comparing and Ordering Unit Fractions
